Our highly successful Murder Mystery Weekends are based on parties of 10 to 14 people who hire the hotel for their own private Murder Mystery Weekend House Party. As you will have exclusive use of the hotel, you need not worry about other guests getting in the way of  your murder mystery party, so you can set the party mood to be as outrageous as you like. Our murder mystery weekends are very well suited to groups of family and friends wishing to celebrate a special occasion or event.

Your  Murder Mystery weekend begins with a two-course meal on Friday evening, arranged to allow for the various arrival times of the members of your party. After your meal relax in the bar, make use of the games room or stroll in the hotel grounds.

Saturday starts with a full English breakfast. Murder Mystery groups optionally take in one or more exciting activities during the weekend. Choose from  quad biking, karting, paintball, golf, fishing, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, surfing etc. The costs of the activities are between £15 and £25 per person per session. Or why not just relax and enjoy the glorious North Devon countryside and rugged Atlantic coastline. We can advise on a number of walks or scenic drives.

The Murder Mystery takes place on the Saturday evening when all of the "guests" assemble in costume in the bar for a pre-dinner drink and a "set the scene" briefing. Although the murder mystery games do not lend themselves to participation by children, the weekend can be a family affair with children safely tucked in bed before the game begins. The game unfolds over the courses of a three-course dinner and is solved in the bar after the meal. Throughout the evening your hosts will become your personal butler and maid - what else would you expect for your country house weekend?

We have selected a number of murder mysteries that we can use depending on the size of your party. Whichever mystery is chosen we organise the murder weekend with you by providing you with character resumes for your murder party. These outline the role they have to play and even suggest a costume sympathetic to the role. Costumes should be encouraged as they add to the murder party fun. We for our part host the murder mystery weekend and participate wherever necessary to ensure that you and your party have an enjoyable Murder Mystery Weekend.

Sunday mornings for Murder Mystery weekends start with a full English breakfast, at a time chosen by you to meet the needs of the party after the night before. After which you can make your way home, having enjoyed a memorable weekend house party. Take in one more activity or a round of golf on the Sunday morning before making your way home.

The fully inclusive price of the Murder Mystery package is from £140.00 per person (assuming a party size of 14). This includes two nights dinner, bed & breakfast and the game itself. The only extras that you have are bar, wine and any additional items or activities. Please note that this price is for exclusive use of the hotel and its facilities throughout the weekend.

We are very experienced at tailoring our Murder Mystery Weekend House Parties to meet the individual needs of your group, especially when it is a special occasion that you may be celebrating.
